Chaim Bill Meyer: Nurturing the Place
Published 2014 by Castlemaine Art Museum to coincide with the opening of the exhibition of the same name. That our sense of place should be nurtured, protected and cherished - is complicated by the shifting physical locale in the contemporary period; the notion of inhabiting a place, of a sense of home, in the age of travel and global citizenship. Bill Meyer has been living and working in Europe, Israel and U.S.A whilst continuing to maintain his studio base in rural Australia. The bush, captured in Nurturing the place explores a deep sense of connection to place and reflects the complexities of our relationship with nature in the digital age.
